Commited to strengthening small and medium sized enterprises
Since 2017, ITESO's Center of Development for Marketing and Sales (Cedecom) has helped to guide hundreds of small and medium-sized companies to market their products and services internationally, with the aid of many students carrying out their Professional Application Projects (PAP) for micro and small companies.
Since its foundation, Cedecom has worked with more than 200 companies nationwide, and more than 100 internationally. Its objective is to strengthen the competitive position of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region and enable their incorporation and permanence on the market. They help them structure the organization and identify gaps, areas of opportunity, and exploitable strengths.
In addition to the collaboration of students from degrees such as marketing, communication and audiovisual arts, design or commerce and global business, Cedecom Mipymes also counts on the expertise of academic advisors in various areas such as finance and digital marketing.
Cedecom is principally divided into two parts: micro and small companies (national) and international. Micro and Small Businesses work on the marketing mix: product, price, place, promotion, and advertising.
As Carlos Riggen, professor at the Department of Economics, Administration and Marketing and Advisor to the PAP of Cedecom Internacional says, "On the international side, we want companies to have the ability to go out and sell their products. We work with students who help us determine viability, that is, whether the company can or cannot, and if they can't, then what's required to do it." He goes on to say, "The second phase involves searching for people who could import and sell your product. It is very pleasing to see how ITESO, through its students and professors, has had a positive impact on companies and now they work in a fairer and more ethical way."
Cedecom Micro and Small Companies works with companies from all walks of life, but in order to cater specially to organizations with a more social focus, the division of Cedecom Empresas Sociales (Social Enterprises) was created with the same objective: to help commercialize products or services, but specifically focused on rural communities, with cooperatives, NGOs and others.
